In 2023, a new package “Ensuring the preservation of human resources for providing medical care to the population located in the territory under temporary occupation” was added to the program of medical guarantees. Medical institutions located in temporarily occupied territories can apply for it, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of regional integration. 

The package will make it possible to pay salaries to medical workers in hospitals located in the territories temporarily occupied by russians. 

“Our position regarding the medical professionals who are currently working in the territories under temporary occupation remains unchanged. These are Ukrainian doctors and nurses. They save lives and treat Ukrainian patients. Therefore, they should receive Ukrainian wages. Ukraine does not leave its own people,” Viktor Liashko said.

Now the National Health Service continues the process of contracting medical institutions that are located in the temporarily occupied territories. In particular, 73 medical institutions operating under occupation in Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Kherson regions submitted their proposals. 

“Now we are in touch with the large number of medical institutions under temporary occupation. In 2023, each medical institution with the management of which proper communication is established and which will conclude a contract with the NHSU will be transferred funds in the amount of the monthly salary fund,” the Minister of Health added. 

It should be recalled that the government set the basic salary for doctors at the level of not less than 13,500 Hryvnia for a nurse and not less than 20,000 Hryvnia for the medical staff.
