Medical team from Volyn became absolute winner of Cherkasy Medical Rally 2018

As many as 40 medical teams from Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland participated in the Cherkasy Medical Rally 2018. The team from Volyn became the absolute winner of this competition, the teams from Zakarpattia and Khmelnytskyi oblasts took the second and third places, respectively. The team from Cherkasy oblast won the competition last year, which is why the rally was held in Cherkasy this year.


The team from Kaunas (Lithuania) ranked first among the foreign teams, and the team of medical students representing Cherkasy Medical Academy took the first place among the student teams.

All emergency care teams (national and foreign, medical staff and students) competed on equal terms and performed the same tasks. All participants followed clinical scenarios mirroring the real life work, interacted within the system, as well as with police officers and representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Each emergency medical team had the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge of the emergency medical care protocols and to show how to use them in practice in case of emergency or mass causality incident.

Emergency medicine and military emergency medicine specialists from Ukraine, Lithuania, the USA and Israel determined the winners.

The medical rally is an important stimulus for continuous training and professional development for emergency care specialists, as given the urgent character of emergency situations, the lives of many people depend on their professionalism and timely delivery of services.
