Pilot project on aeromedical evacuation extended for 2022

The Government extended the pilot project on aeromedical evacuation for 2022 and regulated the possibility of using all types of aircraft of state aviation entities for inter-hospital transportation of patients from all over Ukraine.

The adopted resolution will allow expanding the project, which is currently operating in Kyiv and Lviv oblasts, to base at other regions.

The pilot project on aeromedical evacuation is a step towards ensuring equal access of all Ukrainian citizens to high quality medical care at specialized and highly specialized levels, regardless of their place of residence. Pilot projects in Lviv and Kyiv oblasts are funded by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and are free for patients.

Since the actual start of work within the framework of the aeromedical evacuation project from August 30, 2021 to December 29, 2021, 57 flights were conducted in Kyiv oblast. 50 flights were conducted in Lviv oblast from October 1 to December 29, 2021.
