The Ministry of Health of Ukraine plans to sign a memorandum of cooperation with Task Force Health Care (TFHC) – the Dutch platform for the Life Sciences & Health sector. In the near future, the Dutch medical businesses will be able to invest in the development and modernization of the Ukrainian health sector.

At the World of Health Care international congress, Roman Ilyk, deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine, and Erik Gerritsen, Secretary General at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (NL), discussed the current progress in reforming the Ukrainian healthcare system, developing transplantation in the country and Ukraine joining the Dutch Tasc Force Health Care platform, which partners with more than 30 countries of the world.

"I am impressed by the pace and scale of the ongoing health reforms in Ukraine. I am well aware of the challenges you are currently facing and, for my part, I am ready to provide full support to the reform implementation process and to develop fruitful cooperation between our ministries," underlined Secretary General Erik Gerritsen.

In 2020, the Government of the Netherlands plans to introduce systemic changes to the national healthcare system. Therefore, the Netherlands is currently studying Ukraine’s experience in transforming the national healthcare, in particular, in introducing the capitation payment model in primary and secondary care.

"The healthcare system transformation is a complex long-term process, therefore we are constantly improving and updating the key programs and priority areas of our work. The introduction of a new healthcare financing model and a single-payer system – the establishment of the National Health Service of Ukraine – provide a good ground for improving the country's investment climate. At the meantime, the cooperation with the world’s leading medical communities is a tool for attracting investment in modernizing national health facilities and improving access to healthcare. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine is pleased to join the TFHC platform. We hope this will contribute to developing public-private partnerships in the Ukrainian health sector, as well as the cooperation between our states," commented Ukraine’s deputy Minister of Health Roman Ilyk.

Task Force Health Care (TFHC) has been representing the Dutch Life Sciences & Health sector since 1996. The various TFHC Platforms consist of partners from industry, knowledge institutes, NGO’s, healthcare providers and the government, all active in the Dutch Life Sciences & Health sector. These partners provide innovative and sustainable solutions to global (and local) healthcare challenges and are active all over the world.
