The first two groups of Ukrainian specialists - psychologists, psychiatrists, and rehabilitation therapists - have just returned from Poland, where they completed a five-day professional internship in the field of mental health and rehabilitation.

The goal of the project is to strengthen the professional training of Ukrainian healthcare workers with the experience of Polish colleagues in the rehabilitation of wounded and the treatment of war-related stress disorders.

The internship program is being implemented thanks to the close cooperation between the First Lady of Poland, Agata Duda, and the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How are you?”

The training continues: two more groups of Ukrainian specialists are currently in Poland. In total, the project plans to provide internships for five groups of mental health professionals and five groups of physical rehabilitation specialists.

The participants who have already completed the internship noted the relevance and high level of organization of the events, and especially the friendliness of their Polish colleagues. In particular, according to the Ukrainian trainees, they saw different approaches to work and received new information important for their practice.

Informal communication with colleagues from Poland and joint meetings of psychologists and rehabilitation therapists also proved valuable for our specialists. In addition to sharing experiences and establishing new professional contacts, these events contributed to the psycho-emotional relief of our specialists.

First Lady of Poland Agata Duda personally met with the project participants and addressed them with inspiring words of support.

We express our gratitude to the Polish side for supporting our medical sector in the context of a full-scale war.
